About SGCCI

Established in the year 1940, The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) is an ISO 9001:2015 certified Organization. It’s a matter of pride for SGCCI to have evolved as one of the oldest and the most reputed Chambers of India. It is the oldest apex body of Gujarat with a total focus on growth and development of Trade and Industry in the Southern Gujarat Region and covers an area from Bharuch to Vapi and Umargaon towards Mumbai, which is a fast growing and one of the most prosperous parts of the State.

With its substantial membership base of more than 11,000+ Direct Members, 2,00,000+ Indirect Members and 150+ Associations, SGCCI has been consistently working to provide quality service to the members of Trade & Industry community of South Gujarat at large for enabling them to grow qualitatively & quantitatively to make the South Gujarat region competent enough to meet global standards.

Besides that, an additional need was also felt to build a facility, which can provide a platform to organize large scale Business Meetings and Seminars/ Symposium/ Conferences so as to keep pace with the changing economic scenario. To address this need, a Multipurpose Hall with ultra-modern facilities and seating capacity of 1100 was built by SGCCI. It was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce & Industry (IC) Smt. Niramala Sitharamanji on 27th May, 2016.

SGCCI is committed to the development and strong evolution of the MSME segment in the Southern Gujarat Region by implementing the various initiatives of the government. Surat has a strong base of manufacturing and is contributing in a big way to the national GDP with the involvement of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

SGCCI being a leading Chamber in India, is committed to promote “BRAND SURAT” worldwide and attract foreign investment to the region. Hence, SGCCI envisions promoting the core strengths of Trade & Industries based out of Surat by supporting them in eliminating hindrances faced by them.

SGCCI has mastered the art of Trade Fairs and Industry Specific Exhibitions for more than 25 years with focus on segments such as Textiles, Gem and Jewellery, Handloom and Handicraft, Automobiles, Engineering, Heavy Industries and showcasing products and services by Women Entrepreneurs.

To make these exhibitions world class and encourage international participation, SGCCI has ventured into Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre which is spread over 13 hectares of land and has fully air-conditioned pillar less dome of 1,16,000 Sq. Ft. for showcasing products and Services. The SIECC was inaugurated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modiji in the year 2010, after which it has became fully functional to organize exhibitions, trade shows and buyer seller meets. SIECC also witnessed some major national-level events as well, which includes the Finale of reality shows such as KBC and Dance India Dance.
